The use of the word "finally" is kinda interesting. Have we all been anticipating the day with eagerness?
I know, I was like "finally"? What hell are they talking about?

Maybe it was just a gaffe in translation. I hope it was just a gaffe in translation...

Only problem with the North Koreans situation is we have fair amount of troops in South Korea. If we
attach with a cruise missle they will march south before we can stop them. And if we start
gathering troops in the region, that might set them off so they march south. They could easily
invade Seoul before we could stop them.
There is the DMZ they'd have to get through.

the DMZ has like 40k american troops. NK can mobilize 1/2 million pretty quickly. fast enuf that there wont be enuf time to stop them
A guy I work with has a brother in the Army that is one of the 37,000 or so U.S. troops stationed along the DMZ. He's in an artillery unit and says that if the NK started coming across they could lay down so much artillery fire that they wouldn't make it across that mile no matter how many men they brought. Says there is a line of U.S. artillery all the way across the DMZ, behind that is the SK artillery, then finally behind that are the U.S. MLRS units. He said there is enough artillery ammo on hand to keep a sustained rate of fire for 18 days. Of course the barrels would most likely melt long before that.

China wouldn't let NK attack SK and US, since if that happens 2 things will happen:

1) NK will get beaten back and conquered. Then China'll have a unified democracy Korea, with strong ties to US and sizable armed forces (not to mention Nuclear capability) right at their doorstep. They already have one in India, they don't need another one.

2) NK will get beaten back and China decides to intervene on their favor just like Korean War. Next thing you know they'll have US vs China (no one would want that).

Just more blathering rhetoric designed to keep the minds of their starving masses off of hunger and focused on hating the enemy, namely the NK government's convenient whipping post, the US.
"Do not arouse the wrath of The Great and Powerful Oz! I said World War III! The Great Oz has spoken!
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

No disrespect, but artillery against nukes?

I seriously doubt that NK would use nukes except in the most extreme of circumstances. If they were to start something conventional by coming across the DMZ I have no doubt that an Alpha Strike launched from a carrier or carried out by planes bases in SK or Japan would be on their way to take out their nuke launch sites and facilities. Now if they started off with a nuke that's another story....I just don't think that would happen though.

I somewhat agree, but don't you think that they also know that that would be the only chance they got? Just thinking about the situation here, for all involved parties, i do hope i am wrong...
