Yes, it's a different point of view than what you would hear on Fox News or CNN.

wtf does fox have to do with this? let's just hope either the test will fail or they fvck up and blow themselves up

Well, their long range missiles failed during the tests in July. But testing a nuke is alot different than a missile. It will either happen, or it won't.

I think its 10x more likely Musharraf gets deposed and the Pakistani military starts selling off nukes to the highest bidder.

Neither Fox News nor CNN have ever mentioned the inevitable arms race that would kick up. That's how it relates, sorry if it read different. 🙂

<--- P&N is that way. 😉

Really, though, haven't people been talking about this since it was clear that N.K. was still persuing it's nuclear program?

The only way they could actually use a nuke to attack someone is in such a way that you can't prove that they're behind it, otherwise they're toast. There are plenty of people who would gladly take one, most likely somewhere in Europe, although a container ship to a US harbor isn't out of the question.

sooo NK has admitted for a long time that they have nukes. Explain to me again why we are going after iran so hard (who doesn't even have nuclear weapons yet) while NK bullies everyone????? WTF?

because iran doesn't have nukes yet. going after a country that already has them = disaster.

for example, if we had a conflict with NK, they would/could nuke south korea and japan.

This is valid is you're dealing with someone who posseses some degree of rationality. Sure, if they nuked the hell out of Japan, NK would get their ass handed to them. That doesn't mean they wouldn't do it, and it doesn't mean it wouldn't still suck for Japan (or whoever).

It's been what, 60 years since the last nuke went off?

Yeah, it's about that time for another major WW.
Its been much less than that. In the cold war, the Soviets and the USA detonated a hell of a lot of nukes.

first,

i think this site is BS.....looks like some x-files/horrr/weekly world news site with stupid articles.

second,

i am not afraid of NK...just another country with some communist fascistic leader in power.

terrorism..yes....but WWIII because of terrorism ? dont think so

We'd go after Iran because of that very reason- they don't have nukes yet. You can't stop NK from having them, if they already have them.

Besides, NK is contained and in economic turmoil. We're just going to let them wither away.

The bad part is that you can't put the genie back in the bottle.... eventually everyone will have nukes, and it's only a matter of time before terrorists obtain them and use them.

The last nuclear test was in 1998, and there have been thousands over the years. Wiki

I'm not sure what the TV news stations are reporting since I ahve no TV, but most places I've read consider an Asian arms race to be a likely outcome should this test succeed. Both South Korea and Japan have dozens of nuclear reactors and could easily produce the plutonium needed for bombs. I'm not sure about each countries reprocessing, but i'm sure if they don't currently have the facilities to extract the plutonium from spent fuel then they could easily develop in the next 5 years.
