You guys need to admit that Trump is 10x the president Bronco was. And no way would Hillary make Un do this. Should would have done the usual appeasement dance like all normal politicians do.

What did Trump do to facilitate this?

even Moon wants Trump to get the Nobel.

Moon did all the heavy lifting to get the process moving after he decided the US is too unreliable and volatile a partner to be retained long term and that even coming under China's influence is preferable. There is, from their perspective, no amount of Trump ass kissing that will divert them from their end goal.

Meanwhile the New York Times bashes Pompeo for being out-of-pocket while Trump exited the Iran nuclear deal.

At a Key Moment, Trump’s Top Diplomat Is Again Thousands of Miles Away

I think any rational person would agree that exiting the Iran deal is a far, far bigger diplomatic issue than the release of three prisoners. Were you quoting the NYT because you agree with it?

I'm glad the NYT and people like you unabashedly show their true colors for all to see.

Looking at the alacrity with which Trump and the White House claim credit for anything the President did or might possibly have done or thought about doing or didn't do but it looks good to claim credit for, the White House response to this lacks ANY claim of Trump participation in the release. Odd.

White House statement: "At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other representatives of the United States government traveled to Pyongyang, North Korea on May 9 to prepare for the President’s upcoming meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. During Secretary Pompeo’s visit, the North Korean leadership released three American detainees. President Trump appreciates leader Kim Jong Un’s action to release these American citizens, and views this as a positive gesture of goodwill. The three Americans appear to be in good condition and were all able to walk on the plane without assistance. All Americans look forward to welcoming them home and to seeing them reunited with their loved ones."

Something happened and Obama didn't build it. Very coincidental that this happened after all the back and forth Between Trump and Kim Jong.
Because only your small brain thinks adults can solve major disagreements by yelling, foot stamping, cursing, and name calling like a toddler.

So you really don't have any specific items to list, just that "it happened after this other thing that happened, so the other thing obviously was the impetus"

By that accord, maybe Un's heart was softened by the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Or the birth of William's and Cahterine's royal baby. Maybe he was inspired by the pageantry and excitement of the Winter Olympics? Or maybe he was pumped up after watching Black Panther or Infinity War? Maybe the new Childish Gambino video got him to thinking...

I'm EXTREMELY happy about it. Where did I say ANYTHING negative about the apparent situation and changes in Korea? What I don't subscribe to as of right now (as nobody can provide me with a reason to do so) is giving the credit to Trump for these events.

Let me know when Trump has actually done something worthwhile and then I'll give the people who advised him credit.....

Since you hold Moon with such high esteem, do you agree with Moon that Trump should receive the Nobel Peace Prize?

I thought the Nobel Peace prize was stupid and worthless? At least it sure as shit was when Black Man got one!

Without reading the thread, I give Trump credit on this matter. Regarding NK he has exceeded my expectation

Back when I was a teen, my dad said nothing good ever happens after midnight, hence it was my curfew all through high school. Well, something good did happen after midnight. The prisoners came home from NK.
Good on the POTUS and VP to be there to personally greet them. That was a nice gesture. Those guys have to be feeling very happy to be home!

This would not have happened had Trump not stood up to little rocket man Un. He would have still been firing missles and demanding money to stop doing so. Trump said no and that he would face fire and fury if he actually hit anything. Then he put major trade pressure on China. China kept NK afloat with backdoor food, supplies and cash. China backed down and put pressure on fat boy Un.

Un finally backed down, released prisoners and wants to join the world economy.

Trump should get the Nobel Peace Prize..

Now.

I give Moon majority credit for the current developments, nothing more. Moon is smart enough to realize to get's Trump attention you have to shower him with fake platitudes. Just like the Dead Leader moment in Trump's first cabinet meeting. Truly stomach turning.

Moon publicaly stated before coming into office he wanted a 1-1 with KJU. Their get together at the Olympics helped nudge the process along. Remember how Pence was frozen out of any conversations?
