Your characterization and gross generalization sounds detached. Saying they don't care about life is wrong. You have dehumanized them in your own way, without the empathy and understanding of why their policy is so poor.
For conservatives, it is in essence a lack of proper education and the inability to see how the world truly works. Mixed with a toxic dogma of anti government sentiment. (Because America once told the Brits to !@#$ off). It is inherently a view that our government's entire purpose is to be restrained and restricted for our "protection". This is fear based with the idea that it is an educated position backed by what the founding fathers did. An idea given gravitas that their position is America's very meaning, its very existence.
Yes, I understand there are many violations of that principle, but when in our failings do we humans not selectively apply rules for our own benefit? Not all conservatives are in it to be pure of heart, but I'd suggest most are true believers of the principle laid out. However much they live up to or fail to adhere to it. You would do them harm to callously describe them as not caring about life, perhaps you'd describe them as an enemy of life?
You harm yourself by not knowing who they are and what can motivate individuals within their greater identity, as there are ways to appeal to and convert some of them from their path. If only you saw it, and had the patience and understanding to try and try to make the world a better place. Hating on them will only see hatred returned. Violence upon them will only see violence returned. How then, do you intend to live with them? I suggest you move to understand them, for there is power in knowledge, strength in kindness, and hope in civil discourse.
