This thread is still alive. Must be a slow week.

I still like the West Minnesota suggestion. :D

Hmmm... how about Dodge Dakota. They can become the first state
with corporate sponsorship... or they could try to confuse people by
changing their name to Not Dakota, saving loads of cash on
signage because they can just paint over the "r" and "h".

This results in: No-Dak-Ota. [Remove the hyphens, they are there for enunciation purposes]

Thus our culture of North Dakota remains preserved in Nodakota.

Nodakota. That's how people from down here (Mississippi) say it anyway. The way I look at it,
if it snows regualarly somewhere, it's not worth caring about. :)

Edit - Just kidding btw

<< I really have nothing against North Dakota, but I am petrified that the Air Force is going to send me to Minot AFB in the grand metropolis of Grand Forks. I think I'd suddenly convert to Buddhism and profess to being unable to hurting even a fly if that were to happen. >>

Damn, my 4 years in the USAF was at Grand F*cks. I propose the following name: God-Forsaken-Miserable-Hell-Hole (with the hyphens present). I guess that assignment kept me from reenlisting.

Thank goodness for this miserable assignment, though, because I met my wife because of my assignment and it prompted me to quickly move from the area and we now reside in Northern Virginia just south of the Dulles Tech cooridor. One hell of an improvement.

<< Some of you are knocking a place without ever being there. If you have been there.. then you are alowed to complain! >>

Well, since I've been there, I do have a right to make my comments. The people in that state really liked to discriminate towards military folks.
