North Dakota thinking about changing its name!

Now, this is a new one: North Dakota debates a name change.

They are concerned that the "north" part implies that the state is "cold and snowy and flat". No, I think people think it's cold and snowy and flat because it IS cold and snowy and flat!

Personally, I think they should change the name to "Uninhabited Frozen Northern Wasteland", but that's just me.

Who cares what comes to mind when you think of North Dakota. it's a fact that the state is cold, and has vast prairies. i don't think it should be changed.

I think it's more along the lines of no one CARES about them. There's a reason only 700,000 people live in the state...it sucks!

J/K....my g/f is from South Dakota which is lucky enough to to have The Badlands and the Black Hills. At least 1/10th of South Dakota doesn't suck

I am from North Dakota.

I've debated the idea of a name change for many months and I sincerely think that merging the two words &quot;North&quot; and &quot;Dakota&quot; is the best possible choice.

This results in: No-Dak-Ota. [Remove the hyphens, they are there for enunciation purposes]

Thus our culture of North Dakota remains preserved in Nodakota.

I personally think we should take all the troubled peoples of the world and move em there... the Palestinians the Kurds people from Sierra Leone... etc etc...
