The last Bojangles I went in was like a time machine from the 80s. The girl at the register gave the order over a PA. The spicey chicken biscuit was weak at best. Then the hashbrowns were soggy and nasty. Maybe it was a bad experience, but even in MS I've had better service and food in Popeyes. This Bojangles was close to Asheville that I stopped at on the way the French Broad to go rafting.
you have to know when to go to bojangles...first, you have to be there during a rush. if there isnt a line, youre going to get cold food. they have zero qualms about leaving food out for hours and just handing it to someone. if its busy the turnaround is fast and youll get it fresh, which means you have a good chance of some damn tasty food
second, you dont eat the hash browns, you get the seasoned fries. the above rule applies.
third, try their honey mustard....on fries, or a chicken biscuit. its good
fourth, their breakfast special gets you a biscuit, fries and a drink for less than $2.50. if you go during the rush the food is fresh and thats damn hard to beat for breakfast.
id like to say raleigh...but downtown really doesnt have much going on, there are some bars and restaurants though so its not worthless, just nothing noteworthy. if you have a car you can probably catch a college ball game in raleigh, chapel hill, wake forest or durham or you can find a show or some live music or something to check out pretty often.
december in raleigh can be in the 30s or the 50s (or higher, but those are normal ranges id say) so its on the cool side.
