North Carolina: Illegals, you can have drivers licenses but only if they are pink

RALEIGH, N.C. – A new driver's license expected to be issued to some illegal immigrants in North Carolina has prompted state lawmakers and immigrant rights groups to voice concerns over the proposal.
The proposed North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles license has a bright pink stripe and the bold words "NO LAWFUL STATUS."
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles announced last week they would begin issuing the licenses March 25 following a lengthy legal review. The Obama administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program grants valid federal work permits to qualified applicants brought to the U.S. as children without legal authorization.

First let me say I think illegals being allowed to drive in the US is absolutely dumbfounding. You are an illegal alien, how is it you can drive here legally?

Disregarding the blatant subversion of law, illegals are now up in arms about their drivers licenses being pink and stating "NO LAWFUL STATUS". Well, umm, get the fuck over yourself! You shouldn't have a license in the first place but then you raise holy cow hell over the truth? Don't like it? Become a citizen if you're that butthurt over it. Besides I don't want

Apparently laws only mean something to those who respect the Constitution but Presidents as of the last 10yrs have stepped up their disregard for the rule of law.

Brody said he believes strongly that the DACA program violated the U.S. Constitution because it was implemented without congressional approval. Obama said last year he was forced to take executive action by the decades-long failure of Congress to consider meaningful immigration reform.
"We need a time out," said Brody, a construction contractor. "We don't need to have the federal government dictating to us how we are supposed to issue licenses in this state. We do it, and that's a privilege we have under our Constitution."
Among the concerns raised by Brody and other bill sponsors is that illegal immigrants might use their new licenses to access social programs or register to vote, despite the bright pink markings. An extensive 2011 review of the state's 6.4 million registered voters by the N.C. Board of Elections found 12 instances were a non-citizen successfully cast a ballot.

So wait, your argument is that because they are breaking one law they should be forced to break others? What sort of sense does that make? I can't believe this is even up for debate, of course you should issue drivers licenses to them. It's just common sense.

I don't understand what you are getting at here.

Wouldn't common sense be to deport them since you know they're here illegally... expect they're not allowed to do that.

It makes a lot of sense to mark on an ID that is typically construed as meaning you're a legal resident that you're not, and thus cannot use it to apply for various benefits, employment, etc.

And you prove why common sense isn't so common.

Wouldn't it make more sense to do actually something about it lol. But I guess that's to hard to understand. Hell why not just let everybody be legal that's the path we're headed down anyways with crap like this.

I'd like to hear your plan for identifying and deporting eleven million people.

Common sense is not so common, indeed.

I'm still waiting on what you were trying to argue above.

Huh?

A driver's license is necessary in order to drive legally. We should be encouraging people to drive legally as much as possible. Purposefully choosing to prevent that because you're mad about some other law they are breaking is silliness, it's cutting your nose to spite your face.

Are you making the claim that I am against legal driving? Preventing an illegal from driving legally is the issue not the mere fact of having a drivers license. Only a moron would try to claim that from the above. Cutting your nose in spite of your face is exactly whats happening in regards to the rule of law. You have to disregard the law to even attempt shit like this. Your "common sense" is a shameless excuse for legitimizing illegal activity.

Look, your OP wasn't very well thought out. I tried to point it out to you and as usual you're flying into a rage about it. Enjoy!

Im not sure if you are joking..............

They wouldnt be breaking any laws if they didnt have a license, they just wouldnt drive a car.

Take some hypothetical undocumented resident. He or she is already here--that's not changing. He or she will be driving--that's also not changing. Do you prefer that that person learn our traffic rules and how to safely operate a motor vehicle and obtain a driver's license, or remain ignorant of our traffic rules and how to safely operate a motor vehicle and not obtain a driver's license?

You're totally right, which is why no illegal immigrants drive cars now.

Wait, what?

It is quite easy to find them, would not be difficult at all. The political will isn't here though to do it.

That aside I am not sure they should be further legitimized but if they are givingthead a scarlet letter or star of David type identifying feature feels rather barbaric to me.

I'm sorry but if you think finding 11 million people would be 'quite easy' you're fooling yourself. For example, did you know that almost half of the illegal immigrants in the US are simply visa overstays?

If you think it's easy I'm really interested in hearing your plan for it.

Wait, what?

What im saying is that we shouldnt provide these parasites with anything until they are citizens. Until then they should be deported back to their country of origin at their countries expense, otherwise we should kill them if their country doesnt want to pay. That is one hell of a deterrent to coming in illegally.
