That sucks, I haven't had to get gas in over a month so I haven't been paying attention to the prices. I filled up both my car and truck before Katrina hit so I've avoided the higher prices for this long.

Yeah, I filled up before it too and got it at like $2.50/gallon, just about $3/gallon here in Indy

That is interesting... You guys are getting gouged hard or something. At least over here in cali, we know we got all that extra sh1t we gotta pay for.

Well I don't know what the average is I South Carolina but in the town where I get gas it is 3.07 to 3.09

i fill my car up about once a month, i just dont need to drive anywhere, i can walk or take the T just about anywhere i wanna go

my grandmother got a new car in march, she has put gas in in 2 times in 7 months

The gas tax in NC is 27 cents per gallon right now, that is the main reason. There is a station near me that is at $3.54 per gallon!!!!!

You'd think if there were a pipleline problem, VA and SC would see a similar price.

I've been told the colonial tank farm in Greensboro is the worlds largest store of refined patroleum. I suppose that doesn't help either.

Gas prices are not just gas prices, the reason they are higher in cali is because they have to add a bunch of BS additives and other things to make the gas burn cleaner because of californias crappy smog laws. I couldnt tell you why NC is so high, maybe the goverment officials want a little extra, who knows.

I saw a sign for $3.54 in Cary, but then I thought those damn yankees can afford it. 😀

Well, crappolla. Now I see the BP down by me in Durham is $3.10. :|

I thought the governor was on top of this. Can we claim gouging?

Virginia's gas tax is 17 cents per gallon and South Carolina's is 16 cents per gallon, while North Carolina motorists pay 27 cents per gallon. Do the math, the average in NC would be below $3 if the tax wasn't so high.

LOL. Good old Bunkey's car wash (Shell station). That place is always either extremely high or extrememly low. Lots of stations are now at the $2.99 mark though.

Looks like the District of Columbia (pre-tax) is higher than any other 'state'. How ironic. 😛

i knew it seemed damn high....

i filled up last week, both of my cars, at 2.87 before it jumped to 2.99 then over $3.

sucks, but at least im only driving about 15 miles a day, or less.
