North by Northwest

anyone else hate the ending.?

the movie was doing great until the last cut. The damn thing nearly won an Oscar for editing, and that ending cut sequence was pathetic....

Oh, I love the movie, but I have to agree with Goose, the ending was lame, as if Alfred ran out of time and just ended it.

It would be nice if AMC or TNT would show some of his older classics like "Strangers on a train" or "the 39 steps"
instead of pummeling us with John Wane flicks.

QFT

they used to do the whole Fear Friday thing on AMC every week with the occasional good horror movie in between all the Halloween crap... now most of that time has also been allotted to john wayne.

and speaking of... i can appreciate the man for what he was... but... a good actor he was not.

It's great ending. Much better than some lame "have someone pull them both up" routine.

"ran out of time"?
😕

Huh? The story was OVER.

Philip Van Dam was busted...Eve Kendall's mission accomplished...Roger Thornhill's worries were over...what, did you want Hitchcock to show Leonard's funeral or something?

Grace Kelly naked would have been a nice ending.

Except she wasn't in the film.

Sputter, sputter, um, um, but, well, hell. All these years I was thinking that was Grace Kelly. No Final Jepardy for me. Now I have to go see what Grace Kelly looks like. Anyway, Eva naked would have been nice.

No. I was referencing the actually "cut." The transition between them hanging and then the shot of the train.
