ok i have a Dell L500r with
PIIIE 500Mhz,
96mb ram
D-Link NIC
Lite-On 48x cd-rom
VooDoo3 2000PCI 143@166
Soundblaster 64V PCI
Maxtor UDMA66 7200rpm 10gb
this is all running on the dell mobo(who makes them anyways?) in a micro tower(ick) it has an i810E chipset. i have been having some problems latly(past 2 days) where my computer would sutter when i have say, winamp, IE, and AIM open, which it never did before. now the north bridge never had a heatsink on it. i have just added an 80mm fan in the side of the case, and a heatsink fan for my voodoo. the heatsink on the PIII is warm, but not hot, and my voodoo is just quite warm now as compared to burn-you-finger hot when it wasn't overclocked and didn't have the extra cooling. could this stuttering be because of the north bridge getting hot? i just touched it and it's on the warm side, but as i said, this never happened before. i just defragged my hd last night to see if that would fix it(i do it ever friday night) and it didn't. any ideas?
