Also read yesterday that Xerox is getting out of consumer printer/scanner/copier business, to concentrate on "our core services"

i hope my dad keeps his job :( he's been with Nortel for a long time, every time these things come around he gets nervous

I know Nortel uses alot of sub-contractors and they have cut all of their perdiems. I know alot of people who have had their wages cut by $200-$300 a week. I feel so bad for them, but at least they are still working.

What are you people worried about? There is no recession; we haven't met the "definition" of a downturn. Just ask all those Economists in DC.

Hmmm...they already laid off 20,000 out of their 85,000 people workforce....telecom is really suffering now. :(

my friend's dad (like my second dad) works for Nortel - I hope he gets to keep his job, he already started working from home more (i dont think that is a good sign).
