Got an offer to be a sole helpdesk tech for a major artist firm with only 8 or so employees. No servers, just Macs, DSL and a bunch of artists needing fulltime 'tech' help whatever that means.
I know I'll be frustrated half the time since it's braindead activity but the people are cool (not to mention they're ALL cute artsy chicks) and pay ain't bad considering that it requires no certs or anything, just some tech and network experience. 9-5 thing.
Also I probably won't be utilizing even 10% of my technical ability and most of the time I'll probably be just sitting around looking at ass and drinking coffee. I don't have any certs but I have dabbled in on a wide gamut of stuff long enough to have me supporting businesses up to 100 or so users successfully.
My longterm goals are a bit fuzzy at the moment since I have shown interest in way too many areas and not sure exactly where to specialize in so this might be a good chance to see if I can fit in with a team rather than working by myself and also some people networking which can possibly lead to another job that's more challenging.
What do you think?
