normalize/enhance divx audio onthfly?

Divx movies always seem to have annoying audio. It's either waaaay to low so you have to turn the speaker volume to 90% (at which point someone always feels the need to IM me and wake the whole neighborhood), or it seems ok at first, and then an action scene cuts in and you swear that someone turned the volume up 200%. So you turn it down, and then the action scene is over and the characters start whispering and you can't hear a damn thing.

Is there any program out there that normalizes or amplifies divx audio on-the-fly?

Are the divx's ones you've 'aquired' or your own conversions? Are the audio tracks in AC3 or did you convert the audio to stereo MP3?

What software player are you using? Try using the Core Media Player (free) as it has excellent audio handling.
