Normal temperatures?

what are the normal temperatures for Pentium4 processors? whats the range? whats considered harmful? my main concern is a freind of mine just bought a 2.8ghz and now his temps are 60C whereas mine are only 46C. i was wondering if his temps are harmful, or even if mine are harmful?

I have a P4 2.4 that runs @ 32C. It's a Retail CPU using the retail heatsink/fan. I think 46C is on the edge, and 60C is way too hot.

Remember, mobos all read differently. Asus reads too low. Abit reads too high. What mobos are you posting about?

My 3.06 is running at room temperature. It's still in the box waiting for my fricking mobo to arrive. insert impatient smiley here

That's what I'm running at too.
I remember reading that the max temp for a P4 was 71C so there has to be a problem.

When you guys post about temps, you have to state "load" or "idle" and what mobo the CPU is on. 32C is an idle temp. 46C load is fine. 60C is borderline depending on what mobo.

I'm sure daos was posting about load temps.

How in the name of bob do you OC a CDRW???

Some CD-RWs has a capacity of OC, especially those from Lite-on. I am using my Liteon 8x4x32 as 12x10x40 for about three years, and still works fine.

my 2.4 (check sig for specs)

idle 46-48
load 57-59 (prime 48 hours no probs tho)

even without oc i still get almost same temps maybe 1-2 degrees lower

ambient is around 32~35

i never got a reading of below 46 at bios from boot up even tho it was off for a long time.

Are my temps ok?
