Hello,

What is the normal temp a i7 920 should run on?
My temp is between the 50/57°C on 7% load

Is this alright or is it way to high, i do have the stock fan

Welcome to the forums... :)

Yes, those temperatures sound right for the stock cooler. However the 920 stock cooler is not that good, I remember 90C+ temps under full load. Needless to say, I went and got an aftermarket cooler. Temps dropped to the mid 60'...

This.

The stock fan was barely adequate for stock (2.66ghz) speeds. If you want to OC at all, or at least keep a more silent machine at stock, get an aftermarket fan. Any decent aftermarket fan should also allow you to hit 3.2ghz no problem. :)

Good luck!

I overclocked my 920 D0 to 3.3Ghz on stock cooler and can run through OCCT without it getting too hot. I did lower voltage though to near 1v (can't remember exactly). However I just got my Noctua NH-D14 in the mail, so I will try to overclock some more soon :)
