Ok, i just re-adjusted my heatsink, scrapped off the old heatpad, and added some Arctic Silver 3 thermal compound. Coolingfan/heatsink = Antec Jet Cool

Tbird 1.4 ghz with soyo dragon mboard.

got a full tower case, with a side case fan blowing over PCI slots (like Alienware style) and another case fan.

what should my temperatures be? idle temperature and temperature after being in use for a long time

Yeah, if your system is stable you should be OK, however you didn't mention if you have any case cooling or what the system temp reading is or what the room temp is in the middle of the day with no A/C or is 75f the temp for that?

I mentioned my case cooling. CPU fan/heatsink is the Antec Jet Cool, and I just put some Arctic Silver 3 on it, and cleaned it of all the dirt that was in it.

I got a 300 watt pwoer supply with a fan behind it blowing air out of the case. I got a regular case fan in the front of my computer blowing air into it

Got a side fan drilled on the side of my case, blowing over the PCI and AGP slots (that thing Alienware started, the Koolmaxx thing)

full tower case, with plenty of air flow. The front panel of the case is open , the two side doors swing open and are closed but loosely and not screwed on. an approximate 3.5"x3.5" grill/vent on each side near the drive bays.

right now I have the AC running, and the room is pretty cool

under Speedfan it says my Temp1 (CPU) is 51 degrees C, HD temp is 35 degrees, Temp2 is 27 degrees, and Temp 3 is 39 degrees, but i've seen this temperature fluctuate greatly, and another temp labeled just Temp is 11 degrees

My bad on the case cooling, that's what happens when ya skim through the posts 😉 If 1.89v is accurate for the CPU's Vcore then your temp is understandable considering how much power that 1.4 T-Bird draws at that voltage.
