my temperature for my cpu is at 46c. is that normal? i'm using a zalman 7000. whats consider high for this cpu?
thanks

Whats your board? Is that an idle temp or a load temp? Are you using the newest bios revision? Is it prime stable?

My OC'd 3000+ idles at 31-32 and hits 55-57 under load. At stock it didn't break 40 under load. This is all with the stock cooler.

Any yes/no answer you get will have a 50% chance of being wrong. Because without knowing the temperature af air fgetting fed to the HSF and the accuracy of your temp reading we cant even take an educated guess as to what temps you should be seeing.

cpu temps will rely highly on ambient (case and room) temps... 46C is NOT high and is perfectly acceptable for an a64.. however if you saw little to no improvement after switching hsf to the zalman 7000, you may want to try reseating it..

under 60C load is recommended for a64s

idle is at 40C. when i wake up in the morning after leaving it on, i see it at 40C. after playing games for 1 hour, it hit 46C. takes about an hour to go back down to 40C. i'm using speed fan to check temperature. i'm using a msi rs480m2-il mobo if that matters. and my zalman 7000 is at the lowest setting.
