Normal idle VGA temps

I realize this may be in the wrong forum, so move it if it is.

Anyways, I have a XFX 7900 GS and I was wondering if my temperatures are normal. It runs at around 60 C when it's idle. Once I start playing a game, the fan speeds up and the temp can go up to around 85 C normally. Is this really hot? If so, what can I do to fix it?

(I found out the temps using MSI's monitor, as well as ATItool)

Reason I bring this up is because I just bought a new motherboard and the hardware monitor that it came with keeps going off while in the middle of a game because it says my video card is overheating. I know I can raise the threshold in the properties, but it caused me to wonder if my graphics card really WAS overheating.

Thank you.

85 C isn't a comfortable temp, but it should run fine. My video card a 7950gt ko runs 53 C idle and 65 C load. My advice is install a few case fans, use compresed air and clean the fans and components of your rig.

in my home theater case I get about 50 idle and about 70-80 load. Just try to get case fans to flow around the card, move expansion cards away, and if all else fails download RivaTuner and force your fan to spin faster constantly. Might be louder, but if you're worried then it doesn't matter.
