... big enough to put my hand in.

i think i read on AT or maybe Newegg that the service for
these requires a lot of patience if you get one that doesn't
work.

anyway, i declined to accept it. now i guess i go through
the RMA process.

for those people who have gotten the Westinghouse 1080p
what condition was the box in ?

I got mine from Buy.com. It didn't come through UPS or any major delivery service. It was a special package courier where I had to schedule a delivery time/date with them before they would deliver it. The box/monitor was in perfect condition, no holes or even dents to the boxes corners, on arrival and so is my 37W3 :)

That would be freight, possibly they had it on a pallete? I agree though, mail ordering an LCD is scary, unless you have a really good return policy with shipping included. I'd rather pay a bit extra and be able to walk back into the retailer and swap it if there are any issues.

I got mine from MWAVE, box came a little banged up, bit torn but it worked fine.

The panel burned out after a month though they told me RMA process would probably take a little over a month including shipping time from start to finish. :(

Luckily I live in SOCAL, so their office was only 7 miles away. I drove it down to Westinghouse and turned it in to save shipping time expecting them to work on it and return it to me in 3 weeks. The guy says hang on, takes it inside 3 minutes later comes out says, "It's a bad panel here is a brand new one."

Me "Sweet".

All around a good experience.

Sounds like he checked the serial number and found it was a known bad "lot". Good to know that their service was that good in person. Absolutely amazing.

I bought mine from PC Nation since their price and dead pixel policy was better than Newegg's.

It arrived about 45 minutes ago and the box was in great shape :) Can't wait to play with it!

How did it turn out? And where did you find PCNation's LCD return policy? I couldn't find it on their site.

Should have accepted it, filed for the RMA, then hope UPS is in charge of making the transactions. You might end up with two... uh.. one brand spanking new Westinghouse!

I got my 42" from BestBuy using their home delivery. The guys at the store wouldn't let me transport it home in my car laying down, saying it could fracture screen (I thought that was only a problem with plasmas?) so offered me free delivery. Delivery took a few days to fit me into their schedule, but it arrived in perfect shape. The delivery guys even carried it upstairs, helped take my 35" CRT down and set up the new screen.
