Normal fan speed?, need cooling

I have a MSI k3 Ultra m/b with a XP1800+, the fan rotates at 6000 to
7500 depending on if I´ve got the chassi on and how long it has been active. Is this normal? The fan is also quite noizy, guess I need some more cooling options?
