Normal expected Temp..

Hey guys,

My friend helped me build a new computer as my old one was out of date. Any how, the fan I have is a Microfin copper based xp cooler. My motherboard (not sure if that's what its called) is a Amd 2400+.

I put a temp gauge on the wall of the case and it registered 85* degrees F. Is that normal? Should I put another fan inside of the case? Thanks alot!

85 F ... is fine for case temp ...

the real question is the CPU temp ... I have an 2400xp that runs about 105-120 F depending on the room temp and load on the CPU.

Hey Finnkc,

Thanks for your reply. How can I check the CPU temperature?

BTW you have a sweet computer and we have the same chip. hehe

well I have a temp display on my PC that is hooked up to the CPU.

You can try checking in the BIOS ... depends on your mobo. Under little load I am running about 105-110 F. Well in the safe range of the CPU.

I would spend the 20-25 bucks for a temp probe and display.
