Norcent 27" LCD HDTV for Computer Usage

Will this LCD be OK for a primary monitor usage consisting of general PC tasks in windows and gaming?

Is this just to be used as a monitor, or as a TV as well? How close will you be? The 0.47 mm pixel size is probably too big to use as an every day LCD monitor, unless you have bad eyes.

I will be sitting in front of it from a few feet away, and it's primary use will be as a computer monitor.

No, the resolution is horrible for a display that big. Basically 1280x720 is a resolution for a 19-20" widescreen LCD. A 24" LCD (designed to be a PC display not a TV) has a resolution of 1900x1200. A 27" screen should be something like 2100x1400 widescreen or 2100x1600 4:3. Obviously all of that is approx, but you get the idea.
