While watching the Discovery channel, I found that NORAD accepts calls from children, and will tell them that they spotted Santa Claus on radar (I don't know what type of demented kid would call NORAD on Christmas, but I'll take their word for it). Furthermore, on their website, it will "track" Santa's location across Earth during christmas.

If you have little kids, this might be interesting, but I'm still finding it amazing that a govt. operation like NORAD would do something like this.

I just realized, wouldn't this go against "separation of church and state"? I don't want to turn this into a political or religious debate, I'm just curious.

Santa Claus is hardly religious anymore. He may have started out as a Christian entity, but now is just another figure of a secular holiday.

Well, if NORAD's tracking him, at least they won't be inclined to shoot him down (unless some demented soul wanted to get in a little target practice.....:p) -kd5-
