My 21" Trinitron just started making the death noise a minute ago. The high-pitched ringing. GAAH! 🙁 It went away shortly, but...man 🙁

Look on the bright side. If it goes, you've got the perfect excuse to get something like one of those Dell widescreen flat panel displays. 😉

Smack it around a bit, that will give you at least a few more years use out of it.

Ugh, I hate that. At my old job my monitor would do that all day long, and the worst part was that I was the only one who could hear it so no one did anything about it. You wanna talk about being ready to tear your own head open by the end of the day...

mmm 24" Dell...but, I'm getting married in a month and a half, so my budget is shot for the next six months or so. I've already allotted some savings for my audio project, but that's it. Oh well. Luckily the monitor is hooked up to a laptop, which has it's own screen:

my dell 20" lcd been making that high pitch noise for two months. I would return it but Dell Customer service are the worst. Got transferred around 3 times, then waited for 45mins and just gave up.

I wonder if i can use my company's bussiness representative to handle something like this. They always follow up with me when we have a problem.

actually, when it started making that noise, I smacked it hard on the right side, which made these weird ripples in the screen for like 15 seconds. The sound went away a minute later 😀

Yeah I had a used 17" that did it REALLY loud, which I chucked later. The funny thing is, both that one and this one are flat-screen CRT monitors. Coincedence?

Just say, "Baby, a honeymoon is only for a couple of days but a 24" Dell Widescreen is forever!"
