Hi Folks - I am building my next computer to upgrade from my Dell 8100/WinMe and will be starting fresh with a new HD and loading my software onto it (then using my existing HD for Data.)

1. Should I go for Home or Pro? I'll be using the comp (AMD Venice) for mostly office work, web dev, photoshop & video work (and a little Ultima Online on the side.) I can't find a chart anywhere that lists the differences between the two. I'll be the only one using this comp.

2. Are there any problems with using my existing WinMe HD as a data backup drive? Ideally I'd like to get the new comp up and running with my existing software, then put the Me HD in and transfer my data over. I guess I will then wipe the Me HD.

Thanks folks.

Go Pro. If you buy OEM, it's only like 15 bucks more, and sometime in the future you would regret getting home.

Well in your situation, looking at the differences between home and pro i would say it dosent matter either way.... Spend the extra $15 on pro so itll say "PRO!" on startup, or go buy a dvd or somthin with the $15 saved ith home :D

Just get Home and save money if you don;t need the extra features. The majority of people don't need them anyway.

Home is the same as Pro except for a couple added features that the majority of users don't even use.
