I've built a rudimentary website for myself.

I learned some HTML and did some Per/CGI scripting.

Now I want to try something new, but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I want to install Subversion on my website that is hosted by Dixiesys, but it looks like I need access to a command-line of some sort to do the installation. All I'm familiar with is the easy part of designing and uploading files to build a website. How do I get access to a command-line on the web-server to do the install?

I have a help request in to Dixiesys but I thought I'd ask here as well.

Thanks.

You probably don't, not without paying more money. Most likely either they have done an installation that you would use, or you would need to get "dedicated hosting" (your own personal VM on their server), or you can just set up Subversion on your local machine.

No SVN for you.

Could use something like googlecode or sourceforge or something though.

subversion and "rudimentary" website dont really go hand in hand. chances are you're using shared hosting and the host won't let you have command line access.
