Noob Vista Media Center question...

Just got Vista Ultimate and was wondering where are the options in Windows Media Center to modify DVD picture (Brightness, Contrast, Bob, Weave, etc.)?

Also, if I install a separate codec pack - like ffdshow, for example - and I set the merits to their highest, will Windows Media Center honor that and use ffdshow for the desired formats?

Any info would be greatly appreciated -- thanks in advance!

IIRC, you can't just those settings with VMC, you'd need to do it from your video drivers. As for codecs, for codecs that aren't built in it'll just follow the usual DirectShow chain. For MPEG-2 it will always use the default MS supplied decoder, although there is a utility (VMCD or something like that) that will allow you to change that along with the audio decoder.

I think there is a wizard in Media Center's settings that optimizes the picture on your display. It uses a specially-created video to walk you through the process (a small group of peole playing pool and watching TV in a game/home theater room). But I don't think you will find manual controls for each source/format (DVD, TV, AVIs etc.)
