noob video question - are the GeForce cards designed to work with UT like VooDoo cards?

I have a TNT2 Ultra non-overclocked running with a Celeron 566 non-overclocked. I like playing UT, and was told to get a VooDoo card for better performance. Do the GeForce cards work as well or better that VooDoo cards?

Yes I want a 1.5GHz P4 and a new motherboard with 512RAM sometime soon but I am looking at video cards for now.

Thanks for replies.

If your asking whether they support the GLide API, then the answer is no.

Why isn't that celery overclocked? The rig in your sig says it's overclocked to 875MHz, so why are you running it non-overclocked?

And Rand is correct, the GLide API was written specifically for use with 3dfx hardware.

Are you considering a hardware upgrade of some sort?

Uh well hardware is never disigned to run a specific piece of software(well most of the time that is), usualy programs are made to work with specific hardware. UT was designed(the engine) when Glide was at it's prime and thats why it was coded with glide in mind, hence 3dfx cards. The geforce cards were not made to play any specific software.
