On page 15 of the Black Friday Best Buy ad, (6MB) it shows Nero 7 Ultra as being free after -

$30 instant savings
$20 upgrade rebate
$50 mail in rebate

Ok now here is my noob question. I recently bought Nero 7 Ultra for $2. The $50 MIR won't exist until Black Friday. Will I be able to use this $50 MIR when it becomes available? Or would I not be eligible because I only paid $2 for it?

I'm new to rebates. I rarely bothered before, but for $50 I'll try I guess.

Thanks. :)

first, you bought the nero before the promotion starts.

second, you shouldn't be so greedy anyway. you already got it for $2.

It is pretty sorry that someone is going to buy a program that comes free with most burners for $70, and send in $70 in rebates.

Ok thanks. I guess I was hoping there would be a month grace period or something. :)

Nero 7 Ultra doesn't come free with burners. The stripped OEM version does. Big difference. :)

The whole point of a MIR is to screw the consumer out of their money, or make it so hard that he consumer never sends it in. Why would they give you a grace period?

I don't know why they would give a grace period, that's why I asked. I stated three times I was a rebate noob.

you're talking to someone who doesn't know if he can transfer mp3's onto an mp3 player. he'll probably go out and buy a gateway.

Nothing to do with greed. :) I bought it using $58 in Best Buy Bucks + $40 instant savings. I was simply asking if I'd be eligible for the rebate. :)

ah ic. well if you can pull off the same price again on BF, you can try doing a return/rebuy on BF and thus qualifying for the rebate, if you can get store credits on the best buy bucks.

Hmm good point. Maybe I'll return it for credit.
*runs off to BB.com to see if they accept returns on opened software* :)

Just about every retail compay on the planet will not take back opened software unless it is in exchange for the same title, which means your purchase date will not change. The only recourse is with the manufacturer in most cases with open software.
