Hi, I have always used tv speakers only but now I'm looking to upgrade. Considering getting something like this http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-HW-E45...=28HSZP7IXMQ29
I have:
HDTV with 3 HDMI inputs, no ARC. It has optical audio out.
BD player with HDMI and optical audio out
FIOS set top box with HDMI and optical audio out
XBOX 360 with HDMI and optical audio out
Currently all devices are connected to the tv via HDMI. Is it possible to connect the linked sound bar such that all device audio will output through the sound bar at optimum quality?
My guess is this--
BD player HDMI to sound bar HDMI in
sound bar HDMI out to tv
tv optical audio to sound bar
STB and XBOX HDMI to tv. For these, will audio go through the tv to the sound bar? If so, is anything lost along the way?
Thanks
edit--maybe get one like this that has 3 HDMI inputs? http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...1&langId=-1&partNumber=HTCT150#specifications
