Noob Question: Saving a partition

I have 3 hard drives with 4 partitions. The OS, pagefile, and games are stored on three seperate partitions on two raptors. I have a media backup drive that is all by itself, no partitions. This drive has a bunch of stuff that I need to keep. My question is, when I reinstall windows, will it destroy everything on this drive even though it has nothing to do with the OS installation location? Can I unplug the drive then reinstall windows and plug it back in, saving all the files on it? I know this sounds completly ridiculous but I am new to the PC world. Thnaks again guys.

Always best to remove power from all drives except the system drive that you are installing windows on while doing the latter. To prevent stupidity, I guess 😉 You can save media on the system drive if you want.......
