Noob question regarding RAM and mobo

Hello,
I`m a real newbie regarding this RAM speeds and matching it to my motherboard so bear with me.
Right now I have an Asrock 775i65G mb for my E6300. It`s been working without any problems but this board doesn`t have PCI-e so I`m looking for a new mb.

I`m looking at two motherboards: the Asus P5L-MX and the MSI 945GM3-F

Now, my question is the following: I have a pair of Corsair ValueSelect PC3200 512MB . As far as I can tell these are DDR400. Both boards I posted above say they support DDR2 667. Will my RAM work on these boards? Will it just limit the speed or not work at all? Which board would you choose?

Thanks for any advice you can give me, I`ve been reading all I can find on RAM and can`t seem to find a clear answer on this.

Those two boards you linked require DDR2. Older DDR is not supported. If all you want is pci express, then you can use this motherboard.
