[Noob Question] How can i connect to my home pc at work?

I can connect from home to work via the VPN, but if im on the wifi or hardwired into works network, how can access my home pc? Remote desktop is set up just fine, its win7, and my laptop is win xp.

Can i do this natively thru winxp or do i need vnc or some other 3rd party app?
