a floppy drive, well i took it out becuz i didnt think i would need it for anything, but anyways i really have no clue how to update bios for the dfi lanparty ultra d, any help appreciated, thanks
well idk if DFI supports it but some companies have programs that you can update your bios while in windows it's not exactly safe though. I'd highly recommend you just plug in your floppy and flash it real quick than unplug it.
on the DFI site there should be a step by step guide if there isn't i'd recommend checking out http://www.dfi-street.com they should have a guide there too
www.angrygames.com is one of the DFI technican's own websites. He's a mod at dfi-street, so you can trust him. He's got tons of bioses there along with teh flashing utility.
There are guides at DFI's own website I believe.
Important things you want to do are to clear your CMOS before you flash, and after you do you want to clear again and even take out the battery for a few minutes.
Trust me, you don't want any settings saved on because you will NOT be able to boot. Moreoever, take out your HDs too.
I made the mistake of not clearing CMOS and just trying to boot from flashing 6/23/05 to 4/06/06 and everything failed. I reset to default and it worked, but Windows got jakced up already.
