Now... I know this has probably been asked before, but I need an answer farily soon, and havn't been able to find what I'm looking for from the forums OR via google. So here I go.

If I have a mobo (Asrock dual sata2 939) that says it can run DDR400 RAM, can I put some DDR500 Ram in it, overclock the FSB to 250, and still have it run? For CPU and cooling I'm using an X2 3800 with a good dedicated watercooling loop (GPU isn't cooled via WC) so I think I'm fine in that department.

If this is completely obvious, or impossible, just remember that this is the first time I've ever OC'd anything without the use of a soldering iron :). Thanks guys,

You won't find a motherboard that says higher than DDR400, because there is no JEDEC spec for ram rated higher than that. DDR500 will work fine, but it's only useful if you are gonna overclock.

Yup, you certainly can... also note that by doing that the following would occur:

- Your CPU would be OC'd to 2.5GHz (Good cooling necessary, though it is not too uncommon for the X2 @ 2.5 to run at stock VCore/Heatsink, I see you have a W/C setup so its all good.)
- Your ram will be streched pretty far... Buy the good stuff. A lot of people seem to have trouble running DDR500 rated ram at that speed for some reason. Also make sure airflow is getting to your RAM at this speed.
