My mother-in-law is currently under going chemo for breast cancer and the place where she works brought her computer over so that she could work from home. She has Comcast and needs to get it to connect to the internet. Win98 is installed and from what I can tell, during the boot process it is trying to log into the network where the computer resided previously.

Can anyone explain how I remove the previous network settings and then get Comcast to work for her on the new machine?

Just make sure it's picking up a DHCP addy, beyond that, it should all work by itself. I have no idea if Comcast uses PPPoE or anything of that sort, though. If they do, you'll probably need a PPPoE client. I think it's called WinPOET or something like that

You have to be a little more clear about the issue, are other computers invovled?

How every thing is connected?

How the DSL is used when there is no Work Computer?
