X58 (The LGA1366 socket) is the only consumer chipset that uses triple channel memory.
The dual channel DDR3 is for AMD systems, LGA775 systems and LGA1156 systems.

Lower timings while retaining a high clock speed is the best, but also the most expensive.

I went cheap with my memory, 110$ for 6GB of DDR3-1600 Cas 9. The performance difference in getting pricier, better performing memory was unjustified for me. Plus, you can select all kinds of memory ratios to run your memory at different speeds.

I'm a confused noob... I thought all the new MoBos were for "triple channel" RAM which is supposed to come in banks of 3???

If so, why is this RAM marketed in groups of 2?

Is this RAM good? I hope to settle on MoBo and 920 DO stepping for a new OC'd PC I'm hoping to build in a few weeks.

As far as timings go, assumption is lower is better?
