noob need help: wireless router help

OK I just bought a laptop (dell 600m) with the 8.0211g (sp?) that does the 54mb one

and I want to set up a wireless network in my apartment, and I need advice on which router to get. I dont want to get very expensive ones, just the ones that work good enough for my small network (but it has to have security features so other people cannot get into the network, and also has the 54mb capability)

Also I have a hp printer which is currently connected to my desktop. Is it possible to print using this printer from my laptop? (via the wireless network)
