My current option is either a 256GB SATA 2 SSD or 2TB SATA 3 standard
HDD. They would be running with a Sandy Bridge P67. if given the choice yourself, which one would you use.

i'd go with the SSD as the primary drive, since it is the faster of the two. even though the mechanical drive features a SATAIII interface, it will never even max out SATAI speeds. essentially, its SATAIII interface is nothing more than a marketing blurb.

Hi moriz, thanks for your input. Basically its a choice of one or the other. Not as hardware savvy as some here, but even I know SSDs are better then mechanical HDDs. its just that the mechanical HDD is 2TB as opossed to the SSD being 256GB. The SSD is only SATA 2. I know I can buy a cheap SATA 3 mechanical drive in the future for more storage if I had to.

The speed difference is so vast between the two that I'd get the SSD first and add the mech. HD later, if I had to wait due to funds/budget. The difference is that much.
