Hey guys im looking into getting a laptop to replace my current desktop and I have a question.

My brother thinks that 1280x800 resolution looks odd on laptops screens but I havent seen any to know. Was wondeirng if it is that big of a change from the 1600x1200 that I use now, other than it being smaller. Just wondering if it is going to stretch the words and windows or if they will look normal.

Whether it loks "normal" is a matter of the screen size more than anything...
Other than being smaller, there isn't much that would change, except maybe the color (different resolutions have a way of increasing or decreasing quality, dependent upon whether you increase or decrease your screen size)

What model did you get Anubis? I was looking around on Dell's site and didn't see a 1600x1200 capable notebook.

I went with an IBM T42 (see sig). It's got a 14.1" SXGA 1400x1050 screen and looks great. I would've liked an extra inch bigger screen but it would've been heavier and used more battery power. This T42 is a great balance of size, weight, performance and usability.

I went from a laptop running 1024x768 to my new one running 1400x1050 and it's a huge difference and I mean that in a good way. Keep in mind that if the screen size is the same as you go up in resolution you go down in size (everything is smaller but you can see more). It's so much easier to work with more desktop space now.
