Hi...I was running this utiility that came with my mobo(CoreCell or something...) and I noticed that I could OC my system right from it. So I messed with it for awhile and then I saw this button that said "auto" so clicked it and it ran through a bunch of OC settings while getting higher and higher. Then my system started slowing down and I got a blue screen saying that windows had shut down to avoid causing damage to my PC... so I rebooted to find my system somewhat corrupted. My desktop theme and wallpaper was reset to the default and many other things were different. After resoring most of the basic stuff to my pleasing, I opened up realplayer and noticed that all my music was somehow gone. Through all this I was getting little bubbles in the corner that said "C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew had been corrupted and that I should run the Chkdsk utility." Not seeing that anywhere in the Accessory folder, i typed it in to the Run promt and it ran a DOS window that did some stuff that went to fast for me to see what was happening. It did not seem to do anything. I am completely lost now and I don't know where to go next. I know that I am a complete noob when it comes to this, but I need some help. Thanks in advance...

Please just put everything back to defaults for now. What is happening is that whatever channel you are using for your hard drive is not locked, so by raising your fsb you are overclocking your hard drives bus also, and that is where the corruption is coming from.

After things are straightened out (you may need a full reinstall) learn some more about your board and how to maually overclock if you still desire to do so. Please dont use the core cell anymore either.
