Hello, before i start here are my specs

G skill 2x 1gb (the kit is on newegg for around 144$ its the red heatspreaders version)
asrock s939 mobo bios version 1.6
opteron 165

Settings:
mem divider 166
htt 270
2.5-3-3-7
1t
600 htt multiplier (x3 i guess)
16bits
vcore 1.4

Now i can reach around 2.480ghz and post but i cannot get htt 275. It wont post. My stepping is CCB1E 0550 VPMW . I have heard people getting 3ghz with watercooling. I was hoping to keep it 2.6ghz stable 24/7. I use a arctic freezer 64pro.

My temps are about 38-40C idle.

I have 2 120mm fans 1 in front intake and 1 back outake. A 80mm fan on the side blowing air out.

I want to know why my mem in cpu-z is running at 160mhz. What determines how high it runs with the mem divider. Also why cant my asrock board give 1.45vcore. I have seen people say thats the max vcore it does but mine only does 1.4

If i increase the htt multiplier and decrease htt or increase htt and decrease multiplier will i have better results? Whats the best performance increase i can have? Tighter timings and better htt multiplier with less htt and clock speed or vise versa? I want the sweet spot for performance. I ran 3dmark2k1 before when it was at stock and after when it was 2.43. With my 9800 pro it was 17.3k stock 20k with the overclock which is awesome. I want to get 2.6 stable though. How would i go about doing that if it is possible?

Also when i use the prime 2004 with the better gui i dont know where to look for errors. It doesnt say that anywhere. Do i look for it saying after it runs the test "pass"? If it doesnt say that does it mean it failed the test?

crummy board for OC'ing, no vcore.... I have one I got since everyone said it was good, but I sure don't think so.

Bump up Vcore to 1.5 and retest. What's wrong with a 30% overclock? Some CPUs will top out around 2.4-2.5GHz range.

Prime95 will stop upon error.

He cant bump up the vcore with that board. Thats the problem. Or one of the problems with that board.

You can't go above 274Mhz HTT unless you use a beta BIOS from ocworkbench. Check out the ASROCK forum on ocworkbench.

That would be another one of the problems with the board.

Why would you go and do something like that. I was just about to reccomend that board.

The board that you now have is good because its cheap. Its cheap in multiple ways, however. Cheap in price, cheap in features, esp. o/cing.

Yup, the reason why you cant go higher is because the htt and vcore is limiting you. I've heard that the ocworkbench bios are pretty buggy and i wouldnt use those, but i think thats the only way to get a higher htt. For the vcore you have to do a voltmod to get to 1.5v.
