First time I've built a system. I'm actually building it for a friend, he's my deep-pocketed guinea pig for when I build my own later this year. Anyway, through various helpful tutorials (*cough*mechBgon's*cough*) I've actually got it to the point where Windows is up and running and I'm pretty close to done I believe.

Anyway, here's what I'm working with, if any more info is needed besides this let me know.

K8N Neo2 Platinum board
Athlon 64 3500+ CPU
WinXP Pro x64 (Beta)

I've got Windows on there, the built-in Windows firewalls are on, and I'm behind a Linksys router also. I'm trying to get it to detect the cable I plug into the slot on the I/O port on the back so I can get online but no luck so far (as in the "network connection cable is unplugged" icon shows up on the taskbar). It's shown under network connections as a Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC.

I downloaded the "AMD 64 bit" driver from this page, which matches the Realtek adapter on the motherboard, but sadly if it's not in self-install form I'm kind of ignorant on what to do with it. Anyone know? The two files in the zip were a system file and a setup information file.
