I saw it but I never got into HM on the SNES. Just wasn't my cup of tea. My buddy played it non stop though.

Anyways, I thought Stardew Valley was the new Harvest Moon.

Stardew Valley I think stole all the goodwill of the Harvest Moon games. Seems the Steam reviews say content wise its actually more lackluster than some of the Nintendo portable versions, and looks like its probably a port or using a port of a 3DS game as its basis.

Seems like there's usually one game that steals all the thunder and sucks most of the interest for any type of style, not sure if its the indie effect or what. But Stardew Valley definitely locked up all of that for these types of games (and I think these types of games are pretty limited in how much/long they can catch people's interest).

Its kinda interesting. I'd seen reports that Dead By Daylight had better gameplay, and it was out like a year earlier and less buggy too I think than the Friday the 13th game, but (I assume) because of streamers they went crazy for the latter (and it wasn't just the license, as Dead By Daylight had Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween). Minecraft got all the voxel love. Cuphead got all the artsy 2D platformer love (which this one at least does tend to have multiple games that get popular, but there's often one that gets extra attention/publicity). No Man's Sky got that style. PUBG is getting so much of the love there that they're suing Epic over making something similar. Oftentimes these games aren't the first, or the best, but they somehow get most of the interest. Possibly marketing but I think its more than that.

The Angry Video Game Nerd recently looked at the classic version, and said some not very nice things about.
Things involving donkeys and ansuses.

Are you sure? Granted that's his deal, but I don't see anything from him. I also don't know what "ansuses" are.

The Happy Video Game Nerd guy made videos about it but I think other than him saying that its expensive (because its a rare game so finding a good original copy of course will cost quite a bit), I don't think he trashed it. Unless there's something wrong with the Steam versions maybe?

Was it maybe one of the far too many other people that make videos about them being over the top angry jackasses about things for?

I got Wild Guns Reloaded about a year ago for PS4. I think the physical disc was a limited run or something.

All this, came here to say that OP misspelled 'Stardew Valley'.
