Noncap earbud reccommendations

Currently, I'm hunting around for some earbud shopping and after an unfortunate experience with the Sony MDR-EX51LP's silicone caps (lost them, effectively making the buds a $30 chunk of plastic, thank god for eBay), I'm vowing to never deal with buds with caps again (the 51's weren't mine and they're getting returned).

As for specific criteria, it's pretty basic, after running through about 8-10 sets of buds recently:

-Durable wire build

-Good audio quality

-No caps (or caps that don't come off easily)

- <$25 price range

Open to any reccomendations, thanks in advance.

Hey, wow!

It's me Simon! I never knew you lost them... you could've just said something to me, I probably have a few spares and could work something out so you wouldn't have to get other ones from eBay.

That being said, if you don't like the MDR-EX51LP's, then no worries, we'll get something else. Take a look at the Sennheiser MX400's (the ones I ordered), the Koss KSC75's (I don't like Koss, but apparantly these are amazing).

If anything the MX400 is pretty much what you're looking for, 2 year warranty by Sennheiser, durable build with no caps. Don't worry about the 51LP's if you don't have them.

Take a look at the MX400's or the MX500's - if you like them, I could pick up a pair for you. It's the least I could do. 🙂
