1) remembering what magic key (Esc, Del, F2, F10, F12, etc.) I need to madly press during boot (since evidently after all these years, people still can't agree on one)
2) madly pressing said key during boot and timing it just right (esp. a problem on UEFI systems where the boot happens so quickly that the window of opportunity is unusably low).
Aside from that, I haven't really noticed any other advantages. Besides GPT supporting boot drives over 2TB, but that's usually not an issue if you're using SSDs.
