Non-Tualatin Celeron advice

Just bought a Soyo SY-7VCM Via 694X Socket370 Micro-ATX Motherboard from Computergeeks for $31 to play around with. Hey, it's new and can't beat the price.

Trying to get a cheap chip for it... was looking at the Celery 1.1 GHz for $58. Anyone have any luck with these non-tually chips on the Via 694 chipset?

Almost forgot - I have a Tualatin 1 GHz, what can I do to get it to work in this mobo?

It's a good price for that board!

The 694 chipset is OK, it has no known bugs so far. Works like a charm. And it OCs great. If you get the C1.1GHz, I don't think it will run at a much higher speed. Pretty much the limit of the core.

Had it been the 694T chipset, it would work, I'm sure. I'm afraid that with the 694X chipset chances are it wouldn't.

Of course, you can get a C533 chip almost for free, smth like 20 bucks, and OC it to 800Mhz/100 FSB.
