Non-standard Resolutions and refresh rate

I've got a 9700 using omega drivers (2.544). I can run 1600x1200 at 75hz refresh but when I switch to 1400x1050 I can only use 60hz. It seems as though I can change the refresh rate for the standard resolutions but the add in ones can only be at 60. Is there any way to fix this?

if you go to display settings --> advanced --> monitor tab and uncheck "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" can you up the refresh rate there?

he should be able to. otherwise. try using a generic monitor driver instead of specifying monitor in the settings.

I'm able to change the refresh rate in windows however it doesn't actually change on my monitor it just stays on 60hz (and I can see the flicker)

It has something to do with the Displays tab in the advanced panel. The Monitor max refresh rate must be equal to or higher than the refresh rate in the Monitor tab.
