We are using a couple of old Thinkcentre desktop small form factor PC's. I5 3470 based, so about 10 years old now, and cpu marks score is about 4,600 - using 77 Watts.

I've been thinking about upgrading for a while. I recently saw some Lenovo Thinkcentre M725s systems, with Ryzen 2400G, for about $122 shipped.
I was really tempted - over 8,700 cpu marks performance - an 89% performance boost - but uses 12 fewer Watts.

Currently I have a RX 550 low profile video card in these. I'd be ok with these for 6 to 12 months, but would want to put something better in there within a year.
Unfortunately, the M725s is also a low profile system, just like our old ones. I like the price, but not the constraints of low profile when hunting for a video card.

Anyone have any suggestions for a full size desktop with similar specs that would not limit my video card choices to low profile? Thanks!

I5 3470 vs Ryzen 3 2200G The Ryzen is only about 15% faster in speed bench.

Giving that speed of a computer is much more complicated, the real improvement migh be 2-9%.

I.e., if you don ote get it for free it might Not be worth even 10cents to upgrade.

? Usually cpu marks is pretty dependable at giving overall performance ability of a newer vs older processor. I've noticed that the old I5 3470 lags a bit in some applications now, so I've been looking into upgrading. Having almost twice the performance is definitely worth about $150 to me every 7 years or so. That's about $22 a year.
